We currently have a great opportunity for a General Assistant to join our Care Plus team at The Sandford Nursing Home, Church Stretton, Shropshire on a permanent basis.
The Sandford Nursing Home is a place our residents call home. The Role
As a General Assistant, you will ensure that residents live in a clean and safe environment and ensure the service delivered promotes the independence, dignity, rights and choices of the people that we work with. Your day-to-day responsibilities typically include assisting with the preparation of meals and snacks for residents, ensure the cleanliness of bedrooms, lounges, dining area, corridors, bathrooms and toilets. You will make the beds, take care of linen and clothing including washing and ironing, and carrying out dining room duties.
Skills and experience required:
* Food Safety Level One qualification (desirable)
* Previous experience of working with older people (desirable)
* Ability to be proactive, work on own initiative and priortise work schedule
* A committment to the understanding of good customer service
* Good verbal and written communication skills
* To build relationships of trust and respect with residents and staff
Due to the nature of this post, the role is subject to an Enhanced and Adult Barred DBS disclosure.
