Job Description
Our client is seeking a skilled Senior Data Analyst - Commercial Modeller to join its growing Data team. This role is responsible for delivering timely, accurate, and actionable data analysis to support strategic business decisions. It is initially a 6-month contract with potential to be extended. The role is Hybrid, with one day a week being based in their Nottingham office, this is negotiable. It is a full-time role, 37 hours per week.
Accountabilities:
* Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization in a consultative manner to understand their requirements and identify the most effective data and analytics approaches.
* Serve as a trusted data expert, with comprehensive knowledge of available data and the ability to apply the most suitable analytical techniques, ranging from Tableau dashboards to segmentations and root cause analysis.
* Demonstrate a strong passion for driving impact, whether by uncovering underlying causes, delivering optimal customer intelligence data products, or providing actionable insights that enable the organization to adopt a data-driven culture.
* Excel in storytelling and data visualization, presenting insights and recommendations clearly, effectively, and with actionable focus to senior leaders.
* Take ownership of complex projects, ensuring high-quality, timely, and accurate deliverables.
* Advocate for best practices, innovation, and continuous improvement, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence within the team.
Knowledge and Skills:
* Demonstrate extensive proven experience as a senior data analyst.
* Possess extensive experience in the retail energy sector, with a focus on supporting commercial or finance functions.
* Expert in modelling retail customer behaviour and complex business processes.
* Exhibit excellent problem-solving abilities and a strong sense of curiosity.
* Highly proficient in advanced SQL and Python programming.
* Skilled in applying advanced analytics techniques, including modeling and segmentation.
* Strong expertise in visualization tools, with a preference for Tableau.
* Experience in leveraging cloud platforms, such as DataBricks, for building data pipelines.
* Familiar with Git or similar version control systems, adept in using branches and pull requests for collaborative development.
* Exceptional communication and presentation skills, capable of engaging with non-technical stakeholders.
* Thrive in fast-paced, high-empowerment environments.
* Outstanding team player with a focus on collaboration and effective communication.
* A statistics or mathematics degree, or equivalent qualification in a relevant field
