We have a great new role become available for a Restricted Intelligence' Review Officer to work for North Wales Police at their DHQ in St Asaph.
This role will be working hybrid flexible working 37 hours a week Monday to Friday.
Role Purpose will be to review historic restricted intelligence reports held upon Niche RMS, in order to assess and document the requirement to remove or retain access restrictions held upon them; the overall objective being to release intelligence for wider access where the requirements for restriction no longer apply and/or further sanitise intelligence for release, where restriction requirements may still exist.

Knowledge and experience of handling and managing intelligence, in line with APP and the National Intelligence Model.
Knowledge and experience of utilising NICHE RMS.
Knowledge and experience of policing and/or the use and management of restricted intelligence.
The key accountabilities will be to:
1. Review designated Intelligence Reports dating back to 2005, upon which access restrictions are applied and,
2. Thereafter, assess the content of those reports and any ongoing requirement for any restrictions to be placed upon them, taking into account whether the original criteria for their application still remains (based upon set criteria),
3. Identify those which are eligible for the removal of restrictions and those which require their retention, in line with the Restricted Intelligence 'Review, Retain, Release' process,
4. Remove restrictions and release intelligence where the justification and requirement to restrict them no longer exists, ensuring their transition onto 'open' systems and domains including the Police National Database, or;
5. Where an assessment to retain any such restrictions is made, identify any threat, risk and harm which should otherwise be visible and ensure that suitably sanitised 'parallel' intelligence is created for release onto wider intelligence systems and domains,
6. Implement an auditable process and means by which any review can be scrutinised at a later date,
7. Set meaningful future review dates for any intelligence reports deemed unsuitable for 'release' at the time of review, but which may become eligible at a later date,
8. Maintain strict confidentiality, using tact and diplomacy where applicable,
9. Promote and comply with North Wales Police's Policies on equal opportunities and Health and Safety both in the delivery of services and the treatment of others.
10. Undertake any other duties as directed by a Supervisory Officer commensurate with the post and salary grading.
