Job Title: Internal Quality Assurer (Health and Social Care)
Location: Hybrid (South Wales) (with travel as required)
Salary: Up to £35,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Role Overview:
We are looking for a passionate and experienced Internal Quality Assurer (IQA) to join our team, focusing on the Health and Social Care sector. In this role, you will lead, develop, and motivate a team of Assessors to ensure the delivery of high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment. You will be responsible for the rigorous implementation of Internal Quality Assurance processes, ensuring compliance with awarding organisation standards and driving continuous improvement.
This role is critical to improving learner satisfaction, success rates, and maintaining the integrity of our apprenticeship delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Assurance:
* Lead, develop, and motivate a team of Assessors to improve the quality of delivery across all Health and Social Care learning programmes.
* Plan and conduct sampling and verification activities to monitor and improve learner progression and achievement.
* Ensure IQA processes exceed the requirements of Awarding Organisations, regulatory bodies, and company standards.
* Monitor and improve the consistency of assessment practices by completing regular sampling of Assessor activity.
* Develop and manage delivery models and resources to embed a consistent and standardised approach across all qualifications.
* Maintain high-quality IQA reports with sufficient detail to support and enhance team performance.
* Manage EQA visits, ensuring portfolios meet the required standards and result in positive outcomes.
Training and Development:
* Support and coach Assessors to ensure high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment.
* Provide specific support to unqualified Assessors or those requiring additional development to meet high-quality standards.
* Facilitate regular standardisation meetings for Assessors to share best practices across the Health and Social Care sector.
* Embed literacy, numeracy, and key themes such as Safeguarding, Prevent, Equality & Diversity, and Health and Safety across the learning programme.
* Stay updated on occupational sector developments and maintain CPD logs to ensure best practices are implemented.
Performance Monitoring:
* Work collaboratively to achieve success rate targets and ensure learners have a positive experience.
* Use data and sampling to ensure profiles are planned and achieved each month.
* Monitor portfolios and track progression to ensure completion within timescales.
* Support the Contract Manager in identifying and implementing improvements to the IQA strategy.
General Responsibilities:
* Ensure adherence to all company policies, including safeguarding, equal opportunities, and health and safety.
* Actively support the company’s quality policies and core values.
* Promote continuous improvement within the Health and Social Care curriculum, developing new qualifications and resources as required.
* Undertake additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Contract Manager.
Essential Experience & Qualifications:
* Assessor qualification (A1/CAVA or equivalent) and IQA qualification (V1/TAQA or equivalent).
* Relevant occupational competence within Health and Social Care.
* Proven experience of delivering high-quality training and support.
* Experience leading and supporting Assessors to improve delivery quality.
* Full driving licence with access to a vehicle and willingness to travel.
Desirable Experience & Qualifications:
* Experience coordinating EQA visits and managing successful outcomes.
* Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as Estyn or Ofsted inspections.
* Experience in developing new qualifications and gaining centre or scheme approvals.
