We are seeking a proactive and experienced Mobile Facilities Engineer to join our team, responsible for carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across multiple sites including CNI sites, primarily in the Birmingham area. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in facilities management and be comfortable with various maintenance tasks related to building systems and infrastructure.
The role requires flexibility, as you will be traveling between different locations. The candidate must be able to work independently, manage their schedule efficiently, and maintain high standards of work at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on a variety of building services, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general fabric maintenance across multiple sites.
Carry out inspections, testing, and repairs to ensure that all systems and equipment are functioning effectively and meet safety standards.
Diagnose faults, troubleshoot issues, and conduct necessary repairs or improvements.
Keep accurate records of all work completed, including reports, maintenance logs, and parts usage.
Liaise with on-site teams and clients to communicate maintenance schedules and progress.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, carrying out risk assessments as required.
Assisting the facilities team with the control of contractor's process, inclusive of ensuring contractors are signed in correctly, and signed out, and that everyone is adhering to site policies and rules
Adhere to company policies and procedures, as well as site-specific protocols.
Participate in on-call rotations for emergency maintenance and repairs.
Ensure tools, equipment, and vehicles are maintained to a high standard.
Requirements:
Proven experience in facilities maintenance or engineering, with a focus on PPM and reactive maintenance.
Strong working knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general building fabric.
Familiarity with health and safety standards and regulations in the workplace.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple sites and workloads efficiently.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Good communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to liaise with clients and colleagues.
A valid UK driving license.
Desirable Qualifications:
NVQ Level 2 or 3 in a relevant trade (e.g., electrical, plumbing, mechanical).
17th/18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification (for electrical candidates).
Experience with building management systems (BMS).
