Process Development Scientist (AKTA)
Location – Cambridge
Sector – Biotechnology
Salary – £32,000 - £38,000 (depending on interview performance & experience)

Do you have hands on experience in downstream processing within a biotech setting? Are you comfortable working with AKTA systems or TFF independently? We have an exciting opportunity available with a biotechnology company in Cambridge. Our client is looking to onboard an experienced scientist with prior R&D experience who can hit the ground running in a process development role.

The Role
As a scientist within the downstream process development team, you will be responsible for:
* Developing and optimising processes to ensure the successful manufacturing of DNA products,
* Scaling up R&D downstream processes into larger scale manufacturing,
* Assisting with tech transfer of processes from R&D into manufacturing,
* Maintaining QMS documentation and creating / updating SOPs,
* Independently carrying out experimental troubleshooting.
Current / Recent Experience Required:
The ideal candidate will have the following:
* Independently working with and troubleshooting AKTA systems or TFF (essential).
* Hands-on experience performing different types of chromatography, e.g. affinity, SEC, IEX (essential).
* At least 1-2 years of downstream processing experience within a biotech / R&D / industry setting (essential).
* Scaling up or tech transfer of chromatographic processes (AKTA or TFF) (essential).
* Previous handling of QA / QMS responsibilities, such as creating / updating SOPs (essential).
* Working in compliance with cGMP regulations (desired).
Profile Required:
* Existing UK work eligibility (essential).
* Happy to commute / relocate to Cambridge (essential).
