Job Description

Veterinary Surgeon, Cashmere, Brisbane, Australia. From £52k -£72k DOE PA

You are a good vet, with an adventurous side who is starting to get itchy feet.

You are thinking of moving to Australia to challenge yourself overseas, looking for a new experience and also for a better work-life balance.

The outdoor lifestyle, the mountains, the beaches the long blue-sky days, their ‘happy-go-lucky’ attitude to life has you thinking why not?

What if we knew of a practice where vets are free to work on their own cases? An opportunity to work with a like-minded team that shares best practices, pulls together where needed and clients are seen as friends.

Well, we do and they are hiring.

This hospital in Cashmere, Brisbane, is looking for a 5th Vet to join their 4-vet team of over 45 years of combined experience. Could this be you?

A progressive and purpose-built facility, 10 years old serving Moreton Bay and Brisbane’s northern suburbs for 23 years. You will be joining a family where everyone pulls together when there’s work, and relaxes when it’s time. Ideas are encouraged and collaboration is important, they believe everybody should have a voice.

They are looking for a dedicated, experienced, passionate vet, with exceptional communication skills, a friendly positive attitude, and a sense of humour to work full-time.

A vet with 2-3 years experience, an emphatic vet who doesn’t mind rolling their sleeves up and getting stuck in from the start. It’s mainly SA work here with a real mixed bag of consults and surgery.

The hospital is fully computerised and equipped with all the toys including ultrasound machine, digital x-rays and digital dental x-rays, in-house blood machine, ECG, etc

The working hours are centred around trying to obtain a healthy work-life balance. With a 7.5 days fortnight on rota, 4 days one week 3.5 days the next. The half day on the second week is a Saturday morning, therefore 1 in 2 Saturday mornings. Saturday working is sole charge, you must be comfortable with this.

So, what’s in it for you?

With a very competitive salary, benefits include: Employee Assistance Program (EAP) as well as discounted Private Health Insurance, Gym Membership, 1 week study leave, and discounted pet food.

Based in Cashmere near Brisbane there is plenty to see and do here. It is under an hour to the city and beach in the beautiful Moreton Bay region with plenty of parks, national parks, and local areas to explore. Good schools and with plenty of walking, outdoor sports, shops, restaurants, and bars there isn’t much you can’t do!

So, what’s next?

To experience life in one of Australia’s most picturesque and vibrant regions send over your CV, don’t worry if it’s not up to date. We can’t get the whole story in a job ad so ask any questions. I’ll answer honestly, no hard sell.

Enjoy your new vet adventure on the other side of the world.
