Job Description

Our client is an established private housebuilder and they are seeking a skilled and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join the existing team in Edinburgh. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in new build housing projects and a proven track record in cost management, procurement, and contract administration.

Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare cost estimates and budgets for new build housing projects.
- Manage the procurement process, including tendering and contract negotiation.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and ensure adherence to budget.
- Prepare and analyse cost reports and valuations.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and engineers to provide cost-effective solutions.
- Manage variations, claims, and final accounts.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.

Requirements:
- Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
- Professional membership with RICS or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in new build housing projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts and procurement processes.
- Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
- Effective communication and negotiation abilities.
- Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., MS Excel, COINS).
