Job Description

Health, Safety and Compliance Risk Officer

We are looking to recruit a H&S, Compliance Risk Officer which will be an important link between the Senior Management Team and the Supervisors and Drivers. There will be a focus on operational and legal standards, along with ensuring that day to day compliance on a depot level is being followed. An understanding of passenger transport would be beneficial along with some senior level of managerial experience. The role is an office-based role and will be based predominantly at Barrowby, Grantham but can work on rotation from each of the six depots: Barrowby, Boston, Billingborough, Ketton, Lincoln or Spalding

The Key Elements of the Role will be to:

· Champion the technological systems which Transport Connect utilise i.e. telematics, ETM’s Electronic Defect Systems, Tachograph Analysis System and Health and Safety software programmes.

· Provide joined up analysis of multi-faceted areas of the driver compliance elements of the business, to recommend areas which could be improved upon.

· Reduce TransportConnect’s road risk by carrying out thorough accident investigations and providing clear evidence-based recommendations to prevent similar incidents reoccurring.

Duties

Accident and Insurance

· Carry out thorough accident investigations and root cause analysis on all accidents with a conclusive result and/or recommendation.

· Ensure all actions arising from investigations are followed through with the driver, depot supervisor or Senior Management Team.

· Management of individual insurance claims; from FNOL (first notification of loss) liaison with ERS Insurance company to ensure the best outcome for each claim

BrightHR

· Ensure staff are compliant with TCL health and safety policies and procedures whilst you are on site or in the community.

· New starter Inductions

· Set up staff on BrightHR/Safe, CheckedSafe.

TACHO Analysis/CPC Training and Compliance

· CPC Training - Liaison with our training partner APEX

· Manage the vehicle and driver TACHO downloads utilising TruTac

· O Licence Audit

· WTD Analysis

· WTD Infringement letters

CheckedSafe

· CheckedSafe Defects - Analysis

· CheckedSafe Reporting – Analysis

Quartix Vehicle Tracking System

· Monitor Driver behaviour using Quartix

H & S Site

· Alcohol and Drug Testing

· COSSH Sheets & R/A

· Fire Alarm Testing

· Fire Extinguisher Checks

· H & S Notice Boards up to date

· PPE/Workwear stock control

· Risk Assessment – Review write and implement

· Undertake regular Walkaround checks at each site on a monthly basis with agree action plans and follow up visits

· Vinci reporting and site issues

· Work to provide a safe and high-quality service which may require a small degree of flexibility in working hours

Qualifications

· A certificate of professional competence is desirable

· Formal qualification in vehicle fleet management

· A background in health and safety would be advantageous

· Training/Training Courses will be provided which is the relevant to the business

Salary package

· £35,500 per annum

· 25 days holiday + 8 days statutory holidays
