Job Description

Role Overview:
As a General Nurse in our care home, you will provide expert nursing care to our elderly residents, ensuring their physical, emotional, and psychological needs are met with dignity and respect. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to create and implement care plans, oversee clinical care, and support both residents and their families during their time with us. This is a highly rewarding role where you will make a significant impact on the quality of life of our residents.

Key Responsibilities:

* Provide high-quality nursing care to residents, ensuring their physical and emotional needs are met.

* Carry out assessments, develop, and implement individualised care plans.

* Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring accurate record-keeping and compliance with care standards.

* Monitor residents’ health, observing for any changes and taking appropriate action as needed.

* Supervise and mentor junior staff and care assistants, providing guidance and support.

* Liaise with families and other healthcare professionals to ensure a holistic approach to care.

* Assist with wound care, catheter care, and other clinical procedures as required.

* Ensure the safety, dignity, and comfort of all residents at all times.

* Maintain accurate clinical records and documentation in line with care home policies and procedures.

About You:

* Registered Nurse with a valid NMC (Nursing and Midwifery Council) PIN.

* Previous nursing experience, preferably in elderly care, but not essential.

* Strong clinical and assessment skills, with the ability to deliver person-centred care.

* Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with residents, families, and colleagues.

* A compassionate and empathetic approach, with a passion for working with elderly people.

* Ability to work well under pressure and manage competing priorities.

* Flexible, reliable, and committed to maintaining high standards of care.

* A team player with leadership potential and the ability to mentor junior staff
