Job Description
A client of ours in the Maldon area are recruiting a Purchasing Manager to join their team. This is a full-time permanent position working Monday - Friday 8.30am - 5.00pm (37.5 hours) and paying £40,000 - £45,000 per annum depending on experience.
Key Duties include but are not limited to:
Taking a leading role in the development of strategies aligned with the overall goals of the business.
From a commercial standpoint, control and take responsibility for initial supplier sourcing and negotiations with a specific focus on best value, adherence to regulatory requirements and quality of product / service.
Foster strong, long-term relationships with vendors.
Creation, population and maintenance of compliant supplier files.
Identification and mitigation of risks related to Supply Chain disruptions and fluctuations in demand / supplier performance / product configuration.
Adherence to, and use of, agreed KPI's regarding supplier control, cost reduction, supplier development, NPD & NPI processing.
Conduct initial supplier appraisal activities, either remotely or on site
Direct input regarding the timely resolution of supplier quality issues through close liaison with both the Quality and Supply Chain teams
Liaise closely with internal teams within the clearly defined constraints of the NPD & NPI process to facilitate the introduction of fully released development devices / products / processes
Using management tools to review and improve existing business controls and processes
Liaise fully with the Supply Chain team as a whole to ensure that newly developed suppliers and products can be maintained within existing regulatory and systematic parameters
Undertake special projects and long-term reviews with the aim of reducing costs and improving outcomes throughout the Supply Chain process
Skills and Experience required to be considered for this Purchasing Manager position:
Previous expereince within Purchasing and Procurement essential
Experience of highly regulated Purchasing systems.
Strong communication, interpersonal, leadership, and conflict resolution skills.
Experience within a manufacturing or medical industry desirable.
Strong knowledge of modern material control & transaction reporting practices and methods
Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and inventory management software
