Job Description
Small Animal Veterinarian, Port Macquarie, NSW, AUSTRALIA. £56k - £66k per annum. DOE
As the weather starts to turn colder in the UK, have you ever thought about relocating to a warmer climate?
Maybe you are in a situation where you love what you do, but seek more adventure, a better work/life balance, or just need a change of scenery.
The outdoor lifestyle, the mountains, the beaches, the long blue-sky days, and their ‘happy-go-lucky’ attitude to life has had you dreaming about moving to Australia for a long time.
It’s a big step, we understand that, curious, excited, an adventure on the other side of the world?
Tempted, then read on.
What if we knew of a practice where lifestyle is key, where vets are free to work on their own cases, a community practice with on growing client base who are respectful and understanding of what you do?
Luckily, we do and this one is hiring.
This proud modern independent based in Port Macquarie is hiring for growth. It opened its doors 18 months ago, is purpose-built, and has all the modern tech and toys. They are looking for a vet with a minimum of 2 years’ experience but an emphatic vet who wants to roll their sleeves up and get stuck in from the start is as equally important.
With a loyal client base and outstanding reputation ( check out their 5⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ reviews on Google ) it sees them care and often work on interesting challenging and diverse cases.
Ideally, you will need to have an understanding of consults and surgeries, from basic to more complex cases. You will be experienced in exam and diagnoses, emergency triage and medicine, surgery within mutually agreed abilities, diagnostics, and dentistry.
We all know how hard and stressful being a vet is, this practice is willing to be flexible in the role and will try to work around employees' lives so that some sort of work/life balance is achieved.
It’s a 38-hour working week here over 4 days. You will get a rostered day off and a Saturday every second week, any after-hours work would be on top of this. Expect to receive half the professional fee from any after-hours work completed. On-call is one in four weekends and one night per weekday - this is then shared between the vets.
So, what’s in it for you?
A competitive salary of $110-$130k DOE, A comprehensive CPD allowance, 4 weeks holiday leave annually, sick and carers leave as standard, superannuation at 11.5%. Sponsorship and visa paid for, as well as the 1st-month accommodation paid for.
You will be based in Port Macquarie a stunning place with an amazing coastline, plenty of beaches to choose from, not to mention the breathtaking coastal walks along all the beaches in Port Macquarie. With a great climate, coffee shops and restaurants, a gym, a couple of Aussie bars and shops all within walking distance what’s not to like?
If you are passionate about providing high-quality veterinary care in a beautiful, relaxed setting, we would love to hear from you!
So, what’s next?
Send your CV, don’t worry if it’s not up to date. We can’t get the whole story in a job ad so ask any questions. I’ll answer honestly, no hard sell.
