Are you a seasoned Technical professional with a passion for technical excellence in residential construction? A leading residential developer is seeking an experienced and dedicated Technical Manager to join their team and play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality homes across central Scotland.

In this role, you will oversee the technical and design aspects of residential projects and liase directly with the engineering and architectural managers, ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards while delivering projects on time and within budget. The position involves leading the technical design process for multiple residential projects from inception to completion. You will ensure that all designs comply with Scottish Building Standards and other relevant regulations. Additionally, you will work with planning authorities, consultants, and internal teams to resolve technical and design challenges, overseeing and reviewing technical drawings, specifications, and project documentation. This role also requires managing the procurement and coordination of external consultants and contractors, monitoring project progress, and providing technical support during construction phases. Sustainability goals and innovative building practices will be central to your work, alongside conducting site visits to assess technical performance and address any arising issues.

What do you need to be successful in this role?

* A degree or equivalent qualification in Architecture, Architectural Technology, Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline is essential.

* You must have extensive experience in the residential construction industry and a demonstrable portfolio of work in this sector.

* A proven track record in technical or design management roles is necessary.

* A strong knowledge of Scottish building standards, planning regulations and construction processes.

* You should be proficient in interpreting and producing technical drawings and documentation.

* Possess exceptional communication skills to liaise effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.

* Demonstrate a meticulous eye for detail with a commitment to quality assurance.

* The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver within strict deadlines is critical.

Experience in sustainable building practices or modern construction methods, familiarity with BIM and other digital design tools, and membership in a professional body such as CIAT, CIOB, ARB or RICS would be advantageous.

This opportunity offers the chance to work with a respected developer that is committed to creating exceptional residential properties. They pride themselves on fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment where innovation and professional growth are encouraged. As a Technical Manager, you will have the opportunity to influence key projects, shape communities, and advance your career within a well-established organisation.
