Techniche are supporting a Specialist Manufacturing firm based in Andover, Hampshire with appointing a new HSE Officer.
Purpose of the role:
To support the implementation of a QHSE Strategy for the business by;
Supporting the QHSE team to promote a positive and innovative QHSE culture and drive QHSE forward within the business and supporting the company in the development and delivery of its QHSE Management System, Objectives and KPI’s.
Supporting the QHSE team to maintain and/or continuously improve compliance to ISO 9001, AS9100 and ISO 13485 certifications for the company and such other schemes or programs which arise through customer or market needs of the business such as IATF14969, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
Assisting in the development of a Continuous Improvement culture throughout the Business.
Responsibilities of the HSE Officer:
To support the development, maintenance and continuous improvement of the business management system to meet the requirements of ISO9001, AS9100, ISO 13485 certifications for the company and such other schemes or programs which arise through customer or market needs of the business such as IATF14969, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
Support with the investigation of incidents and near misses ensuring all documentation is updated and action plans completed
To consult employees on health and safety issues and to support and develop the role of the company’s HSE committee
To support in the management of pool car use
To support in the ordering, issuing and reporting of PPE
To generate and maintain records for QHSE compliance e.g. risk assessments, COSHH assessments, noise assessments and other specialist assessments
To support the QHSE team with their relevant activities.
Arranging training e.g. First Aid At Work Training, Mental Health First Aider Training, General Safety Training
To support customer compliance requests that arise from queries, including conflict mineral statements
To support document control processes
To support with Internal Audit planning, progress monitoring, reporting of nonconformities and closure of nonconformities in a timely and effective manner
To support in the generation, analysis and reporting of QHSE KPI data
To attend to department and other QHSE meetings
To support in the training of other team members
Other support as required by the business
Required skills, qualifications:
Essential
Formal education – Degree Level preferred (Minimum Level 4 Higher National Certificate in Electronics/ Electrical Engineering ideally)
Demonstrable experience in a manufacturing/engineering environment, ideally within the electronics Manufacturing Sector and experience of working in a QHSE role
Proficient in Microsoft Office, data handling and analysis
Good communication and negotiation skills
Desirable
Formal Internal Auditor training is one or more of the following: AS 9100, ISO 13485, ISO 14001, ISO 45001.
Formal education – IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH International Certificate
Ideally holds industry knowledge in electronics engineering or equivalent
