Salary: £45,478 with potential to rise to £53,504 over 3 years

NHS Supply Chain currently has an opportunity for a Technical Manager to join our team during an exciting period of transformation, working to make it easier for the NHS to put patients first.
We are seeking an experienced Technical Manager who will be responsible for creating, maintaining, and improving software solutions for the pricing activity of NHS
Supply Chain, driving standardisation and automation. They will manage the transition of data in legacy systems to Oracle and ensure that legacy versions match Oracle so that margins are correctly applied.
Working with the relevant external IT service provider to provide robust solutions
through Oracle including altering the architecture of the Oracle pricing solution.
Every day you will …
Create new models to remove end dates from products within Oracle price lists to allow selected products to be date extended.
Manage the various Excel/SQL based spreadsheets pending their replacement by more robust Oracle based solutions.
Work to resolve issues and improve the current Priced Costs Calculator model
Work to build a new solution within Oracle to replace the upload templates.
Review price issues/ problems within Oracle and work with our technology partner to implement technical improvements, driving automation where appropriate.
Manage the technical partner to optimise the Oracle pricing solution.

What skills will help you thrive in this role?
Advanced practical knowledge of Python coding and its application to commercial problems
Understanding of Visual Basic/SQL and its commercial application
Understanding of web browsers and their manipulation/automation using Python and/or Visual Basic
Working knowledge of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its use and possible applications in commercial settings
Ability to bridge the gap between technical and the business commercial teams, understanding the business requirements and translating into technical terms.
Strong stakeholder management experience with the ability to influence.
Strong communication skills and the ability to express ideas, request actions, and formulate plans.
The ability to collect, analyse, and report information to help make strategic decisions, achieve goals and solve complex problems.
