Job Description

Vehicle Fitter

Due to continued expansion, we're recruiting an experienced Vehicle Fitter to join our well-established client.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

* Report to the vehicle workshop and assess any broken down / damaged vehicles that are awaiting repair.

* Review the EAM system and identify any vehicle faults – communicate with the Site

* Coordinator for guidance regards priorities.

* If deemed necessary, contact the Maintenance Team Leader to advise on any priority issues or jobs worthy of note. This level of involvement should be maintained throughout the working day.

* Produce Purchase Requisitions (PR’s) for any parts or specialist labour that may be required.

* Inform both the relevant Team Leader and the Maintenance Team Leader upon the completion of work and the availability of mobile plant.

* Ensure that all work is carried out safely, and that all vehicles leaving the garage, following repairs, meet all current site regulations.

* The service schedule should be adhered to and records maintained to support a service history.

* Maintain a greasing schedule for all site vehicles and record when the vehicles have been greased.

* Ensure that the oil stores are kept in a safe and clean state and that all spouts are over the bunds.

* Maintain a workable level of key stocks to ensure that breakdowns can be dealt with efficiently.

* Complete a periodic antifreeze test and ensure that all vehicles have an acceptable level of anti-freeze in the cooling system.

* Occasionally it will be necessary to either assist or carry out repairs on static plant.

* Keep certificates of all forks and chains that are delivered for use on Fork-Lift Trucks.

* Ensure that all work conforms to the requirements of Health and Safety, Quality, Environmental and Energy policies.

FOR THIS ROLE YOU WILL NEED:

* Previous relevant experience.

* Able to use own initiative.

* Able to work alone and as part of a team.

* Excellent communication skills.

* Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.

Salary: £39,000.

Working Hours: Monday- Friday 7.30am to 4.30pm.

This is a full time, Permanent position
