This craft attendant jointer will report to the field staff supervisor and will work within network operations based in our Purfleet office. You will be a permanent employee in our UK Power Networks team.
You will attract a salary of £35,219 + benefits and a bonus of 3%.

Job Purpose:
Work in the field at multiple locations maintaining, repairing and constructing plant and equipment at various substations on the electrical distribution network, up to and including the (phone number removed) volt system.
Principal Accountabilities:
Responsibility for all aspects of Safety, Health and Environment relevant to this role
To carry out risk assessments and maintain safe working practices
Be able to operate hand held IT equipment to receive job instructions and record asset data information
Maintain electrical plant and equipment from the low voltage network up to and including the (phone number removed) volt network
Undertake sub station inspections
Report hazards and defects that they are unable to rectify through the appropriate reporting procedure
Ensure quality of works meets with current procedures
Be an ambassador for UK Power Networks and deliver excellent customer service
Be able to work on their own or as part of a team.
You will work as part of a team of fitters that report to a Field Staff Supervisor and have the support of experienced Field Engineers.
You will be predominantly based in the Essex Area. You may travel anywhere with in the UK Power Networks area.
Skills and Experience
The successful candidates should have the following:
Hold a current driving licence.
Have or be prepared to work towards a City & Guilds 2339 (formally 232) certificate in Electrical Power Distribution (or similar)
Show experience of working on regional electricity networks and therefore have knowledge of the electrical distribution network but is not essential.
Personal Skills
Work efficiently and communicate effectively with other team members.
Have the enthusiasm to learn and develop new skills and techniques.
Demonstrate a strong safety culture.
