Job Description
An SEMH school based in Cranbrook are currently in need of motivated teaching assistants to join their team. They have part-time and full time roles available with an immediate or January 2025 start.
As a Special Needs Teaching Assistant, you will work with students who have diverse social, emotional and mental health needs. Your role will involve supporting teachers in delivering assistance to students to help them engage with their learning, boost their confidence, and reach their full potential.
Key responsibilities as a Special Needs Teaching Assistant:
Managing and supporting students with emotional or behavioural challenges and using appropriate strategies.
Working closely with the class teacher to prepare resources and adapt lessons to meet the specific needs of students.
Supporting students on a one-to-one or group basis within the classroom and throughout the school day.
Monitoring and recording students' progress and providing feedback to the class teacher.
Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils.
Requirements:
Hold the Right to Work in the UK.
Have an enhanced DBS certificate on the update service or be happy to apply.
Relevant experience in the industry is advantageous but not essential.
Be able to provide two references within the last 2 years.Benefits:
