Senior Import Operator - Freight Forwarding

Location: Crawley, West Sussex UK

Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 (DOE)

Monday - Friday, 09:00 - 18:00 (1 hour lunch)

Job Type: Full-Time

Desired Requirements:

Prior experience in Import and Customs operations is essential. Experience in exports is a plus.
Sea freight experience is highly advantageous.
Familiarity with handling dangerous goods and licensable goods is beneficial.
Relevant licensing and qualifications (such as for dangerous goods) will be required or will need to be completed in-house.
Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Handling incoming calls and providing job quotations.
Processing operational import jobs efficiently and accurately.
Liaising with contractors and suppliers to ensure smooth operations.
Managing job costing and occasional invoicing.
Preparing and processing customs paperwork in line with regulatory requirements.
Monitoring, processing, and packing goods in the warehouse when required.
