Our client in St Ives, are looking for an experienced Head Chef to join their Kitchen Team at this stunning coastal Hotel.
You will join this large kitchen brigade working with an Exec Head Chef to support the kitchen and lead the team.
This is a full-time permanent role offering an annual salary up to £40,000.00 plus tips and free onsite parking
Key responsibilities:
* Responsibility for the kitchen's daily operations - sole manager on Exec's day's off
* Liaising with the relevant companies for food orders
* Working with the Exec to create new dishes and menus
* Maintaining/raising the food's profit margins
* Monitoring and controlling stock levels
* Ensuring correct stock rotation procedures are followed
* Implementation of health and safety procedures in the kitchen
* Estimating costs and ensuring all purchases come within budget
* Taking care of the kitchen's accounts and creating a work roster alongside Exec Head Chef
To be successful you must have:
* Outstanding cooking skills.
* Real creativity when it comes to food
* An ability to create menus that are innovative and profitable.
* A deep understanding of ingredients and produce.
* The capacity to work under extreme pressure.
* Excellent leadership and management.
* The ability to delegate tasks.
