The Asset Reliability division of BES Group specialises in condition-based monitoring and reliability engineering services.

What will you be doing?

Reporting to the Head Of Software – Asset Reliability and collaborating with a team of expert engineers in a high-tech environment, as a Tester/Business Analyst, you will use your analytical, mathematical, and testing skills to ensure the quality and functionality of applications that process engineering data. The systems you help build will provide actionable insights to optimise asset reliability and reduce maintenance costs for our clients. You will gain invaluable experience in asset reliability and condition-based monitoring and will play a key role in developing our service offerings.

You will:

Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and clients to gather and analyse requirements for software applications.

Design and execute comprehensive test plans, including functional, regression, and performance testing.

Develop and maintain automated test scripts using tools such as pytest and Playwright.

Identify, document, and track software defects and work with developers to resolve them.

Analyse test results, prepare reports, and present findings to the development team and stakeholders.

Contribute to the continuous improvement of testing processes and methodologies.

Research and evaluate new testing tools and technologies to enhance the team's capabilities.

Stay abreast of industry best practices and emerging trends in software testing and business analysis.

As part of our team, you will get:

A starting salary between £55,000 - £60,000, depending on experience

A flexible working approach, the role will be based in our Warrington Asset Reliability office, with some home based working available (you must have suitable Wi-Fi, and provide your own office set-up for time spent working from home)

To join our team, you will need: 

Proven experience as a software tester, with a strong understanding of the software development lifecycle

Minimum A-level mathematics or equivalent qualification

Hands-on experience with automated testing tools such as pytest and Playwright

Experience in testing web applications and APIs

A background in engineering or mathematics

Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

A passion for learning new technologies and a commitment to continuous improvement

Familiarity with using git for source control (desirable)

Experience with databases and SQL (desirable)

Familiarity with web security best practices (desirable)

Degree (or equivalent Level 6 qualification) in Computer Science, Engineering, Maths, Physics or other technical subject (desirable)
