Main Purpose of Role
To assist in the delivery of outstanding services direct to customers in our neighbourhoods and communities in line with the values of the Authority of Local, Approachable and Customer Focussed. To act as an ambassador for the Authority, assisting in the Neighbourhood Team achieving continuous improvement in operational performance. To work proactively to make our neighbourhoods better places to live. To maintain positive relationships with internal and external customers to improve services and achieve a real difference for them. As the Assistant Neighbourhood Officer, you will be expected to assist in all aspect of the management of our properties. Engaging with customers in various ways, supporting our drive to Neighbourhood Planning, improving services, and achieving a real difference for our communities which includes;-
Key Tasks
* Assisting in the delivery of an excellent service that demonstrates the local authorities values and makes a real difference to customer’s lives including ensuring our neighbourhoods and properties are well presented and maintained.
* To work with the Neighbourhood Officer to ensure the services the Association delivers are in line with policies and procedures and are customer focussed, and responsive to local needs.
* Assist in the delivery of a variety of inclusive and effective customer involvement opportunities in our neighbourhoods.
* Assist in the delivery of Neighbourhood Plans in key areas, identified by the Association and with the customers priorities at the core of what they do.
* To be visible in our neighbourhoods and to our customers and work with the Neighbourhood Officer to ensure regular scheme inspections are undertaken.
* To assist in the robust management of the terms of the tenancy/ lease where breaches have occurred.
* To work with the Neighbourhood Officer to regularly monitor neighbourhood service contracts, such as gardening and cleaning resulting in the driving up of standards and deliver value for money.
* To assist the Neighbourhood Officer in their engagement with the wider community and relevant community groups for the benefit of customers in our neighbourhoods
* Support the Neighbourhood Officer to improve the communities where our customers live and uphold promises made in the Better Place to Live Action Plan.
* To assist in the establishment, development, and maintenance of effective partnerships with stakeholders, such as police, the local authority, and customers, having a professional approach at all times.
* Work proactively with the Neighbourhood Officer to recruit and support the Customer Liaison Committee in scrutinising the performance and delivery of the service provided to customers.
* Deliver improvements that have been identified in customer satisfaction and neighbourhood surveys.
* To assist in the delivery of pre-sign up procedures including, if required, visits to prospective customers prior to lettings, deliver prompt and appropriate allocations in line with target timeframes. Work to have effective sign-ups that are affordable and sustainable for both the customer, neighbourhood, and the Authority
* Assist the Neighbourhood Officer to maintain a clear focus on recovery of rent arrears and other debts owed to the Authroity. Suggesting proactive and preventative approaches that sustains customers in their home.
* Providing support for the periodic visits to customers in our ‘managed for others’ contracts, supporting the Neighbourhood Officer to deliver the terms of the management contract, including support to the delivery of the Tenancy Committee and other events throughout the year.
* Support the delivery of development sites, including assisting in advertising, finding buyers for properties for sale and assist in chasing the completion of Shared Ownership properties.
* Work with the Neighbourhood Team to meet budgets set and demonstrate a clear financial awareness.
* Ensure that the computerised housing management system is regularly, timely and accurately updated following all interaction with customers.
* Assist in the production of accurate and timely information on all performance KPIs. To support the delivery of the priorities in the Planned Maintenance Plan and to the standard required from the authority
* Take ownership and have responsibility in the work they do and be accountable in all the work they do.
* Continuously strive to improve on key performance indicators.
* Make a valid contribution to the innovative and creative approach to improving services.
