Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of those affected by domestic violence?

I am currently working with a charitable organisation who are seeking a compassionate and experienced Domestic Violence Counsellor to join their dedicated team. As a Domestic Violence Counsellor, you will provide support and guidance to individuals who have experienced or are experiencing domestic violence.

This position is 22.5 hours per week and is fixed term until 31st March 2025 with the likely possibility to extend for a further 12 months.

Hours and days per week are typically 9am - 5pm over 3 days, with an hourly rate of £15.92

We are flexible on what days are offered for working as preference currently and a hybrid approach is required mixing face-to-face and virtual delivery of sessions.

Responsibilities:

Conduct individual and group counselling sessions with survivors of domestic violence

Assess client needs and develop personalized treatment plans

Provide crisis intervention and support during times of high distress

Educate clients about their rights and options

Collaborate with community agencies and resources to ensure comprehensive care

Maintain accurate and confidential client records

To be successful within this role you must have experience in the DV field, an in-depth knowledge and experience of working with victims and survivors, the ability to assess and respond appropriately to risk and happy to travel around Birmingham. It is desirable that you be bilingual, however this is not a must.
