Job Description
Broster Buchanan are hiring for a Tax Analyst role for a blue-chip automotive company based in Milton Keynes (but supporting 2 or 3 days per week remote working).
This is a newly-created permanent role paying circa £45k-£55k + 10% bonus and great benefits package including a company car scheme.
Working closely with the Financial Director, Financial Controller and outsourced tax partner, the Tax Analyst will take ownership of both direct tax and indirect tax issues for the company in UK and Ireland.
The role is very varied and will include a mix of hands-on tax return preparation, review of outsourced tax compliance, tax project work and regular business partnering and answering tax queries from across the business.
Responsibilities include:
Preparation / review of tax compliance covering:
Corporation Tax – UK & Ireland
VAT – UK & Ireland
PSA, P11D, and incentive tax
Plastic packaging tax and extended producer responsibility
Withholding tax and SAO register
Manage monthly reconciliation of VAT balance sheet accounts and forecast VAT cash inflows and outflows.
Assist in maintaining transfer pricing documentation and preparing for Pillar 2 requirements.
Conduct tax audits, analyse risks, and identify opportunities for tax savings.
Support year-end financial audits for tax queries and complete tax disclosures and deferred tax within statutory accounts.
Stay updated on tax law changes and regulatory impacts on the business.
Provide valuable input on key projects, including digital tax initiatives and the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive.
The company is looking for someone newly-qualified / part-qualified or qualified by experience, with experience in either direct tax or indirect tax/vat. This experience could have been gained in practice or from a similar in-house role.
