Job Description

What You'll Be Doing: We have an opportunity for an experienced poultry professional to join our clients team and provide cover for their Farm Managers and Assistant Farm Managers. Your role will ensure our clients farms are managed to the required standards while gaining a thorough understanding of each farm's operations, locations, and the overall business. In this role, you will:

Gain comprehensive knowledge of each farm and our clients poultry operations.
Prioritise animal welfare, adhering to all health, safety, and hygiene protocols, while supporting Farm Assistants in their daily tasks.
Manage and monitor environmental systems, feed, water, and lighting patterns to create the best possible conditions for poultry to thrive.
Maintain accurate records related to birds, food, and suppliers, ensuring sufficient supply levels and efficient alarm management.
Operate autonomously, making sound decisions, and providing leadership with supervisory and people management skills.
Hold or be willing to obtain a Level 3 Poultry Passport qualification.

About You:

You have previous experience of poultry farming, ideally at Assistant Manager or higher level.
You'll 'live' welfare as a condition in all that you do, ensuring the birds under your care receive the best treatment.
You'll have a solid understanding of relevant systems and equipment and excellent internal communication skills.
You'll be a sound decision maker, with experience of budgetary management and previous supervisory experience.
Ideally you'll be centrally located to the territory.

Tell Me More: Our clients experienced and talented farm management team helps supply the finest quality poultry to UK retailers. You've most likely enjoyed their produce before!

They support and encourage their employees to continue to develop their skills through our bespoke Agriculture Academy, aiming to 'grow our own' agriculture specialists and future leaders. Due to the nature of the role, you will require a driving license to travel to the individual farms, although a work van will be provided.

What's Next: If you feel the above sounds like you, we'd love to chat with you! For an informal discussion about the position, please call (phone number removed), email me at (url removed), or message on LinkedIn. Don't worry if your CV isn't up to date-just send what you have, and we can sort the rest later.
