Metrology Engineer

Salary: £17.75 - £22.75 per hour + shift allowance of 20%

Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Mon - Fri 16:00 - 00:00

We're a leading player in advanced automotive manufacturing, and we're looking for a talented Metrology Engineer to join and play a key role in ensuring the successful delivery of engineering projects. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious engineer looking to make a real impact within a growing and collaborative team.

What We Do

Specialise in complex aluminium and iron sand casting for automotive, motorsport, and aerospace sectors
Develop advanced manufacturing solutions using state-of-the-art technologies
Focus on lightweight, high-integrity casting techniques that support green energy and electrification

Key Responsibilities

Write CMM Programs from both 2d and 3d data using relevant software.
Investigate and research new and future measuring technologies and their suitability to enhance the department's capabilities.
Review and monitor measurement processes with a view to increasing productivity and efficiency whilst maintaining measurement integrity.
Compile corrective action reports for non-conforming products and liaise with production staff to ensure correction of any out of specification features.
Use metrology techniques to ensure verifiable results following specified procedures, including using a range of machines, both contact and non-contact, and associated analysis tools

What We're Looking For

A good working knowledge of measurement software
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Highly competent in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel & PowerPoint
Understanding of inspection of cast/machined parts whilst employing a wide range of measurement techniques.
Able to read and interpret engineering drawings and 3D CAD models along with a strong understanding of GD&T.
