Hours: 8:30 to 17:30 Monday to Friday

Our client is on the lookout for a meticulous and proactive Import Operator to join our vibrant team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the efficient and compliant handling of import operations, contributing to the seamless delivery of our services. They are a privately owned freight forwarding and shipping company with over 45 years of industry expertise. Additionally, they are a family-run business who are committed to providing consistent and reliable services to exceed their clients expectation.

Import Operator Responsibilities:

Import Coordination: Oversee all facets of import operations, from initial documentation to final delivery, ensuring each shipment is handled with precision and care.
Customs Compliance: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of customs regulations and ensure all import activities comply with legal requirements.
Client and Supplier Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, suppliers and agents, providing updates and resolving queries to maintain strong relationships.
Documentation Management: Prepare and review import documentation, including bills of lading, invoices, and packing lists, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Issue Resolution: Identify and resolve any issues or discrepancies related to import shipments promptly, minimising delays and maintaining client satisfaction.
Collaboration: Work closely with the sales team to streamline processes, enhance efficiency, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Record Keeping: Maintain detailed and accurate records of all import transactions for auditing and reporting purposes.Import Operator Qualifications:

Experience: Proven experience in import operations or a similar role within the shipping or logistics sector.
Knowledge: Strong understanding of customs regulations, import procedures, and documentation requirements.
