Are you passionate about preserving the past while embracing the future? Do you have a deep understanding of architectural heritage and a commitment to sustainable restoration? A highly regarded RIBA Chartered Practice are seeking a dedicated Conservation Architect to join the team and lead projects that protect and celebrate historic buildings and sites, based just outside of Reading.
The successful candidate must have a proven track record of working within a heritage consultancy, specialising in conservation, restoration and historic structures.
Key Responsibilities for this Conservation Architect role:
Conduct thorough assessments of historic buildings, including condition surveys, feasibility studies, and conservation plans.
Develop and oversee the design and implementation of restoration and conservation projects, ensuring compliance with heritage regulations and standards.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including historians, archaeologists, engineers, and contractors.
Advocate for the use of sustainable materials and practices in all conservation projects.Requirements for this Conservation Architect role:
Degree in Architecture with additional specialization or accreditation in Conservation Architecture or Heritage Management.
Proficiency in architectural design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) and traditional drafting.
Knowledge of conservation principles, techniques, and legislation (e.g., [Insert relevant heritage laws/standards]).
Strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills.
