We have an exciting opportunity at our Openshaw Campus to join us as a Sessional Basketball Coach on a fixed term (until July 2025), sessional (ADHOC) basis.

The job purpose of a sessional basketball coach in the FE sector is to provide high-quality basketball coaching and mentoring to students, supporting their physical, technical, and tactical development while promoting teamwork, discipline, and personal growth. This involves delivering structured and engaging sessions, fostering a positive environment, and aligning coaching activities with the institution's educational and extracurricular goals. The sessional basketball coach will assist and support the team in training and match days home and away.

To be successful in this, you will need:

Level 2 Basketball Coaching qualification (e.g., recognized by Basketball England or equivalent).
Current safeguarding certification (e.g., Safeguarding Children and Vulnerable Adults).
Valid First Aid certificate.
Proven experience coaching basketball, particularly with young people aged 16-19.
Experience planning, delivering, and evaluating basketball coaching sessions.
Familiarity with working within a structured educational or sports environment.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage and motivate students.
Ability to design inclusive and progressive coaching sessions that cater to different skill levels.
Organizational skills to manage schedules, competitions, and other logistics.
