Salary Range: £52,517.72 Job Purpose Mechanical biased technician supporting process operations and maintenance activities across the site.
Days based role: Reporting to the Engineering Lead, this role will carry out planned and reactive mechanical maintenance as required.
Weekend working will be required on a rotational basis during operational periods.
Core Accountabilities
Work in partnership with Department Engineering Lead and to carry out repairs to CHP and compressed air system
Assist with outage planning and contractor management
During outages undertake maintenance activities as well as testing and commissioning plant in readiness for operations
Performing maintenance of mechanical plant such as pumps, fans, valves, high pressure boilers and steam turbines
Troubleshooting and practical fault finding on plant and mechanical systems
Reliability techniques such as laser alignment, vibration analysis and oil sampling
Installation of new plant or modifications as appropriate
Carry out planned inspection routes on process plant and proactive maintenance
Reporting of all engineering activities in the appropriate format into the Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
Making plant safe for maintenance/repairs
Competent to receive and/or authorise a range of permits as required Skills, Knowledge & Competencies
Comprehensive technical knowledge and hands on skills gained through large scale, complex operational CHP experience
Understanding of hazards and controls associated with superheated steam pressure systems
NVQ level 3 in Mechanical Engineering supported by a recognised apprenticeship
A proven track record of effective technical problem solving, continuous improvement and contractor management
Ability to work as an individual and with groups
Ability to effectively balance urgent and important tasks
Experience of working in a lean operating environment
Experience of working in an operational team of varying disciplines and skill levels
