About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional SEN/SEND Manager/Lead to join a vibrant and inclusive secondary school in Manchester. As the SEN/SEND Manager/Lead, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the SEN/SEND provision, working closely with staff, students, and families to create an environment where all learners can achieve their potential.

You will oversee the development and implementation of the SEN/SEND strategy, lead the SEN/SEND team, and ensure compliance with statutory requirements. This is an exciting opportunity to make a lasting impact in a school that values inclusion, innovation, and excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
The primary role of the SEND Manager is to support and maintain the day to day operation of the SEND department, including but not limited to:

* Develop and lead the school’s SEN/SEND strategy and policy.

* Manage and coordinate the support for students with SEN/SEND, including Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs).

* Provide expert advice and guidance to teaching staff to ensure high-quality, inclusive teaching practices.

* Build strong partnerships with parents, external agencies, and local authorities.

* Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of SEN/SEND provision and interventions.

* Lead and develop the SEN/SEND team, ensuring ongoing professional development.

Requirements:

* A relevant qualification in SEN/SEND or education (e.g., NASENCO or equivalent).

* Proven experience in a leadership or management role within a SEN/SEND provision.

* Strong knowledge of SEN/SEND legislation, including the SEN/SEND Code of Practice.

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

* A genuine passion for making a difference in the lives of young people.
