Company:
Our client is a subsidiary of one of the largest farming and food production companies in the world. The company sells milk, milk powders, and an extensive range of bakery products into supermarkets and corner stores across 3 continents.
Opportunity:
As Assistant Farm Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting the management of our client's agricultural operations. Your responsibilities will include overseeing day-to-day farm activities, managing resources effectively, and ensuring the highest standards of quality and productivity are met.
Responsibilities:
* Operations:
* Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and best practices, Manage day-to-day farm operations, including crops and inputs management, Oversee irrigation activities and production planning and execution, Coordinate activities between the farm and dehydration plant to ensure seamless operations, Ensure quality and traceability of production processes, Monitor technological and process improvements and update production plans accordingly
* Administration:
* Prepare annual budget in collaboration with the Farm Manager, oversee budget expenditure and ensure alignment with budgetary constraints, Monitor costs and implement internal controls to comply with local laws and management guidelines, Prepare replacement and capital expenditure plans to maintain and develop farm operating efficiencies
* Health and Safety:
* Ensure a safe working environment for all staff, Adhere to health and safety policies and procedures, Collaborate with training initiatives on health and safety, Coordinate efforts to minimize workplace hazards and implement corrective actions as needed
Requirements:
* University graduate with postgraduate courses (Agricultural Engineer)
* 10+ years of relevant experience.
* Proficiency in English and Spanish (either oral or written skills).
* General Computer Skills - proficient in computer operations, general knowledge of SAP operations
* computer literate in Office package (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, etc.).
* Managerial Skills:
* Ability to manage and prioritize time effectively.
* Proficient in planning, organizing, and scheduling work.
* Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
* Excellent problem analysis with the ability to propose effective solutions.
* Behavioral Skills:
* Strong work ethic and integrity, demonstrated leadership skills, friendly and approachable demeanor.
* Ability to effectively plan and execute work tasks.
* Confidence in decisionmaking and task execution.
* Highly attentive to detail, ability to work well under pressure.
* Adaptive to change and proactive in finding solutions.
