Field Service Engineer in Glasgow - CV-Library

An opportunity has arisen for a self-motivated Field Service Engineer as a result of growing business and increased contract wins in the electricity industry. The role predominately involves installing and maintaining a large fleet of Condition Monitoring equipment for clients throughout the UK as well as carrying out site surveys and electrical testing — primarily Partial Discharge measurements in air insulated and gas insulated substations. The equipment will typically be located within HV electrical compounds which you will be expected to travel to using company vehicles.

Main Responsibilities:

* Installation of new condition monitoring equipment including subsystems and communications such as Partial Discharge (PD) monitors and Dissolved Gas Analysers (DGA)

* PD surveys within HV substations

* Removal and relocation of existing systems

* Corrective maintenance

* Regular travel throughout the UK. May be opportunities elsewhere in future

* Manage and maintain spares and service equipment at the company premises

* Preparation of documentation and reports to support the field related work

Experience & Skills Required:

* Technical Apprenticeship or equivalent

* Academic qualification in relevant engineering background

* Problem solving

* Strong written and verbal skills

* Data handling, planning, analysis and reporting skills

* Self-starter with a can-do attitude and willingness to learn

* Current full UK driving licence
