Calibration Technician - Bio/Pharma - Contract - South East, UK
Our client is a leading life science biopharma manufacturer with operations across the globe. At present, they are seeking a Calibration Technician to start immediately on contract basis for up to 12 months at their facility based in the South East, UK.
Responsibilities:
· Calibration of assets ensuring correct functionality and accuracy
· Perform routine Maintenance of Plant Equipment, Utilities and Buildings, may involve troubleshooting
· Ensure recurring faults are eradicated by addressing the root cause of the issue
· Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) requirements, and internal Operating and Safety Procedures
· Ensure cost savings are highlighted to management, including competitive tender on quotations and parts, as applicable
· Ensure Calibration targets and goals are met
· Ensure Calibration and Maintenance Standards are maintained and optimized
· Train to changes to systems or procedures adequately
· Perform Calibration, Preventative & Predictive Maintenance, and troubleshooting, with minimal supervision
· Participate in authoring detailed documentation (Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), user guides, Calibration Schedules) for operation and maintenance of manufacturing systems and utilities
· Coordinate and supervise the work of outside vendors for Calibration as required; includes raising Purchase Orders, Permits to Work and the review of Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS)
· Interpret sketches, drawings, layouts, wiring diagrams and specifications
· Stay up to date with internal training, job related technical advancements and current good practice, includes site specific training e.g. L8, Forklift, etc. where applicable
· Demonstrate commitment to the development, implementation and effectiveness of Quality Management System per MHRA, FDA, ISO and other regulatory agencies or standards
· Support Environmental Management System (EMS) activities and compliance per ISO14001
Skills / Experience:
· Previous experience in a GMP environment
· Ability to work hands-on alone or in a team environment
· A proactive and organized approach to managing both a Planned and Unplanned workload
· Proficient on Microsoft Office (Word & Excel)
· Previous experience of using a CMMS to track and record works
· Requires the ability to stand, walk, reach, and crouch for extended periods of time
· City & Guilds, Apprenticeship or similar in Control & Instrumentation
· Optional - Alan Bradley and/or Siemens PLC (Programmable Logic Controller)
