The Client:
Part of an ambitious and progressive international group, the company is a well-established manufacturer and supplier of Polypropylene used in a wide variety of applications supplying a European customer base.
The company is targeting growth in the plastic packaging industry for the Food and Healthcare sectors.
This role requires the incumbent to have an ambitious and tenacious nature with a strong commercial mind set and the ability to build relationships in the Food and Healthcare Packaging sectors - someone who would class themselves to be a natural hunter and networker.
Responsibilities & Key Tasks:
* Propose initiatives and drive the efforts to identify new business opportunities with a focus on the plastic packaging for the food sector aligned with the company’s strategic goals.
* Generate a pipeline of prospective customers and drive the end-to-end sales pipeline from prospection to closing towards securing long-term profitable top line growth.
* Develop and nurture mutually beneficial relationships and collaborations with key participants in the Polypropylene (PP) value chain, including brand owners and converters, to enable the company’s growth strategy.
* In collaboration with the commercial team, develop a deep understanding of the hierarchy of needs of the company’s target markets and leverage the findings to strengthen the company’s position against its direct competitors.
* Promote the company’s products/services and keep the company abreast of latest market trends, shift in customer requirements or innovations within target markets and PP industry at large.
* Leverage customer relationship management (CRM) tool to drive interactions and management of new customers efficiently, liaising with key accounts and sales managers.
Competencies and Skills:
* Extensive knowledge of polypropylene – either working for a raw material compounder/producer or a food packaging convertor that uses this material
* You are well versed in driving sales and BD initiatives
* Market knowledge of the plastic food rigid packaging is essential
* Market knowledge of the healthcare/medical packaging industry is an advantage
* Proven track record of identifying and capitalizing on market opportunities
* Proven track record of building relationships and influencing key decision makers at small and large organisations.
* Strong communication and negotiation skills
* Excellent English required and a third European language a plus.
