Events Manager

We’re looking for a dynamic Events Manager to join our client’s Fundraising & Engagement team to lead their event programme! You’ll design, promote, and deliver exciting events that boost income, engage supporters, and raise their profile. If you’re ready to make an impact and drive success, this is your chance!

Based in Leatherhead

£35,000 - £40,000 (DOE)

Full time

Job specification:

* Lead the annual programme of special events (e.g., dinners, auctions), ensuring exceptional execution and fostering long-term relationships.

* Manage and nurture key relationships.

* Direct regular meetings and briefings.

* Collaborate with other managers to ensure events align with goals and cater to specific target audiences.

* Explore new opportunities to innovate and grow the events, preparing investment cases where needed.

* Work with suppliers, agencies, third-party organisers, and venues to deliver successful events.

* Prepare budgets, assess event feasibility, and identify marketing opportunities and potential growth areas.

* Stay informed of external challenges and opportunities affecting event planning and fundraising.

* Manage and motivate direct reports, ensuring they meet targets and deliver on plans.

Person specification:

* Proven experience in delivering income-generating events.

* Experience managing suppliers and event venues effectively.

* Strong communication skills and teamwork.

* Experience managing staff/volunteers and setting/managing budgets.

* Strong understanding of Special Events Committees and networks.

* Professional telephone manner.

* Excellent customer service skills.

* Proficient in MS Office and CRM databases.

* Highly social, with a focus on building personal relationships.

* Outgoing, friendly, and able to connect with diverse people daily.

* Capable of handling multiple tasks at a fast pace with enthusiasm.

* Persuasive communicator with a casual, informative style.

* Comfortable delegating authority and details.

* Leads by building strong relationships and trust in others.
