About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and target-driven Business Development Officer to join our team. Your primary role will be to connect apprenticeship programmes with interested candidates by identifying and generating vacancies.

This position is ideal for someone with a proven track record in B2B sales, vacancy generation, and building strong relationships with employers. The role requires a proactive individual who is skilled in selling employability services and apprenticeship pathways.

Key Responsibilities:

Vacancy Generation: Secure and generate apprenticeship vacancies by matching employers with suitable pre-apprenticeship candidates.

Programme Promotion: Effectively communicate the value of our clients program to employers, ensuring they understand how the pre-apprenticeship service helps prepare candidates for future apprenticeships.

Sales and Target Achievement: Achieve sales targets by successfully generating vacancies and matching employers with pre-apprenticeship candidates.

Stakeholder Relationships: Maintain strong relationships with apprenticeship advisors and employers to ensure seamless transition from pre-apprenticeship to full apprenticeship programs.

Travel: Visit employers and apprenticeship advisors in the West Midlands area to develop business relationships and maintain ongoing engagement.

Key Skills & Experience:

Proven experience in B2B sales, particularly within the employability, apprenticeship, or recruitment sectors.

Experience in generating apprenticeship or employability vacancies with a strong track record of achieving sales targets.

Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage with employers and promote services.

Ability to work independently and manage a portfolio of employers and vacancies.

Flexibility to travel within the West Midlands to meet with employers and apprenticeship advisors as needed.

A deep understanding of the apprenticeship landscape and pre-apprenticeship programs is a plus.
