Bell Cornwall Recruitment's client is a large public sector organisation with a head office in Birmingham. They are in need of a Head of Finance and Procurement on a 6 month fixed term contract initially. This role will be a member of the Senior Leadership Team, and will shape the direction of the organisation from a Finance and Procurement perspective as well as ensure all legal responsibilities are met- especially Section 151 Responsibilities.

The Role:

Accountable for strategic financial advice and guidance for senior leadership
Accountable for all Section 151 responsibilities
Provide solid strategic leadership to the finance and procurement divisions
Deliver advice on risk management, anti-fraud, anti-corruption and insurance
Leadership of finance division, including accountancy and audit
Overall Management for the authority's financial assets
Further responsibilities can be detailed to candidates upon further discussionThe Ideal Head of Finance and Procurement will have:

Experience at a senior level in Finance and Procurement in a public sector organisation
Robust knowledge of Section 151 Responsibilities is non-negotiable
Proven track record of managing an organisational budget in the region of 9 figures
Ideally holding a CCAB qualification, or similar equivalent qualification
The dual aspect of the role is key, and exposure to both Finance and Procurement is a must have
