Salary: Up to £30,000 basic + bonus + benefits

Overview
A fantasic opportunity has become available for a Warehouse and Transport Supervisor to join our client in their large Carlisle site where they will oversee several warehouses.

Our client are an established indpendent trade business with a fantatsic reputation in the local area and following their success over the years have recenltly been acquired by a larger private equity backed group of companies.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing warehouse and transportation activities, ensuring efficient and safe movement of goods, whilst leading a team.

This role requires strong organisational skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Good communication and people skills are essential to motivate and empower the team and to maintain relatiosnhips with customers, both on the trade counter and at the back door.

Duties

* Supervise daily warehouse and transportation operations, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company policies.

* Coordinate shipping and receiving activities, including scheduling deliveries and managing stock levels.

* Manage a team of warehouse staff and drivers, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.

* Conduct daily inspections of equipment and vehicles to ensure mechanical reliability.

* Oversee the goods in and out process.

* Picking customer orders

* Oversee materials handling procedures, including heavy lifting and the operation of forklifts.

Skills

* Previous experience as a supervisor, team leader or manager in Warehouse, Transport or logistics environment from any sector.

* A good understanding of shipping and receiving processes.

* Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in managing multiple tasks simultaneously.

* Knowledge of materials handling best practices to ensure safety and efficiency.

* Familiarity with warehouse management systems and processes.

* Ability to perform heavy lifting as required in a warehouse environment.
