DK Recruitment are working with a global Medical Manufacturer who are looking to offer an experienced and qualified Electrical or Mechanical Technician a new career and join their successful team based in Plymouth. This role will be responsible for the smooth production of plastic components using Injection moulding machines.

The successful candidate will have an engineering background, with previous injection moulding experience desirable (however not mandatory for the right candidate). They will also be able to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
This role is on a night shift, where you will work 3 days on, 3 days off shift pattern, working (Apply online only).
Main responsibilities will include:
* Operating injection moulding machines to produce plastic components according to specifications.
* Troubleshooting any issues with the machines or processes through root cause analysis and technical fault finding (Mechanical & Electrical).
* Completion of routine planned maintenance - Weekly, Monthly & 6 Monthly.
* Assisting PM Technician with annual maintenance tasks on machines.
* Working safely and adhering to all health and safety regulations and internal procedures.
* Participating in continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce waste (e.g. 5S, Gemba Activities, Kaizen, TIMWOODS)
* Collaborating with all members of shift core team including Operators, Quality Technicians, Engineers and Shift Leaders.
* Documenting production data and maintaining accurate records through SAP.
* Conducting regular inspections of equipment and materials to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
* Maintaining a clean and organized work area.
Qualifications & Experience Required:
* Level 3 qualification in an engineering discipline is essential for this position.
* Previous experience in a Technical based role in a manufacturing environment.
* Previous experience of Injection Moulding is desirable although not mandatory.
* Ability to fault find on mechanical and/or electrical equipment.
* Ability to follow work instructions to complete routine tasks.
* Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement techniques.
* Attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
* Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with others.
* Basic computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (e.g. outlook)
