Sales & Applications Engineer
Location: Near Cambridge
Salary: Up to £50,000 + Company Bonus, expenses
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM (Flexible On-Site Working), overseas travel expected in the role.

Our client is a leading manufacturer of vision controls and lighting and we are seeking a Sales and Applications Engineer to support their long term vision.
About the Role
This exciting, long-term opportunity is integral to supporting the sales of our client's products while demonstrating and promoting their technical attributes. Initially, you will join our Applications Engineering team to gain comprehensive knowledge of their products and internal processes. After a 6-month training period, you will transition into a key role within their Sales, Marketing, and Applications team.
Key Responsibilities
First 6–12 Months:
Gain in-depth knowledge of our products, applications, and processes (e.g., RMA, CRM).
Deliver engaging training sessions to customers.
Provide technical assistance and support to customers and the sales team.
Support the team on an international trade show in the US
Full Role:
Deliver exceptional technical support to customers as part of the Applications Engineering team.
Conduct customer site visits for training, pre-sales activities, and new product rollouts.
Gather and provide market feedback to the Product Manager to guide future development.
Collaborate with the Sales Manager on customer support, business development, and strategic initiatives.
What We’re Looking For
Essential Qualifications:
A degree in a technical or scientific discipline, OR a high-level technical qualification with extensive customer-facing experience.
If no qualifications then proven experience in an engineering capacity with an element of sales to the role.
3-5 years of experience in a sales and engineering role.
Practical electronics knowledge and proven ability to apply it effectively.
Excellent presentation, written, and verbal communication skills.
A Driving license.
Desirable:
Familiarity with CRM and MRP systems.
Hands-on practical skills or interests.
Key Personal Attributes
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
A team player with strong collaboration skills.
Enthusiastic about international travel and working in diverse cultures.
Proactive, dynamic, and comfortable with driving overseas.
Will have o problem being flexible with overseas travel as and when needed to places like the US and Japan.
