As they continue to evolve, they are seeking a highly motivated and strategic UK Logistics Manager to join the team. The successful candidate will work in partnership with the Logistics Director to drive the logistics strategy, ensuring seamless service delivery while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and safety.
Purpose of the Role:
The UK Logistics Manager will play a key role in supporting the achievement of the logistics strategy for the organization, working closely with all teams. You will be instrumental in delivering efficient and safe logistics operations, ensuring compliance, and driving performance across all levels. Your leadership and strategic thinking will contribute to a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Logistics Strategy Implementation: Drive the delivery of the UK Logistics strategy in collaboration with key internal stakeholders.
Transport Network Oversight: Oversee the transport network, ensuring all requirements of the transport commission and operating license are met.
Team Leadership: Lead and develop a team of managers, fostering an inclusive and motivating culture where all team members feel respected, safe, and valued.
Customer Service Excellence: Ensure the delivery of seamless service to customers, focusing on timeliness, efficiency, and accuracy while identifying continuous improvement opportunities.
Innovative Process Implementation: Review and implement innovative ways of working to optimize space and future-proof logistics operations.
Budget Management: Develop the business within agreed budgets to achieve better quality for less, ensuring continued supplier status across all sites.
Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure the management team adheres to Health and Safety and security compliance procedures.
Sustainability and ESG Strategy: Support and deliver on logistics sustainability milestones, contributing to the UK ESG strategy.
Safety Culture Advocacy: Lead by example, demonstrating a commitment to a positive, safe, and secure work environment.
Warehouse Operations Management: Oversee warehouse operations, ensuring KPIs are met through defined procedures and processes.
Property Maintenance: Manage the property maintenance plan in collaboration with the planning manager, ensuring alignment with budgets.
Revenue Growth: Identify and drive revenue opportunities with external suppliers.
Reporting: Provide necessary reporting information to demonstrate business KPIs.
Customs Compliance: Ensure all customs measures within the location are met.
Audit Compliance: Deliver on audit requirements in line with Known Supplier status, CAA & DFT, and H&S regulations.
Customer Feedback: Proactively seek customer feedback and identify actionable trends to continuously improve operational excellence.
Performance Management: Set and review annual business objectives for the logistics management team, ensuring individual accountability and ownership.
HR Collaboration: Work with the HR Manager to establish performance management, development processes, and succession planning.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with colleagues across all functions to ensure smooth delivery of business objectives and consistent supply to retail outlets.
Logistics and Space Planning Expertise: Utilize detailed knowledge of logistics and space planning processes to make sound commercial decisions.
Disaster Recovery Procedures: Ensure disaster recovery procedures are in place to protect the business and provide a safe working environment.
Operational Performance Measurement: Drive efficiencies and improve operational performance across the logistics function.What you might bring :
Proven experience in logistics management, with a track record of leading teams and implementing strategies to drive operational excellence.
Strong knowledge of logistics processes, space planning, and supply chain management.
In-depth understanding of health and safety, customs compliance, and audit requirements.
Excellent leadership, coaching, and team development skills.
Strong financial acumen, with the ability to manage budgets and deliver cost-effective solutions.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across functions and engage stakeholders at all levels.
