School Bookshop Sales Manager required to transport our extensive Bookshop to school events nationwide and display and sell books to children, parents and teachers.
The Roving Bookshop has been working with schools since 1993 to provide access for children to the very best of children's books in a full-size bookshop in school. It now has a nationwide reputation for quality and service among teachers, educationalists, and authors
* Flexible working opportunities include an average of 1, 2 or 2 ½ events per week equivalent to an average working week of 14, 28 or 35 hours
* Overtime hours paid or taken in lieu
* Increased hours during term time balanced by extended time off during school holidays
* Based: in Leicester – travelling nationwide
* Immediate Start – 1 month contract with potential for permanent position
* DBS Enhanced check disclosure and clean driving licence essential
We are looking for a reliable and flexible School Bookshop Manager with a friendly communication style with teachers and children, who is able to undertake all aspects of the event single-handedly.
Schools Bookshop Manager Duties: -
* load and unload 3000+ books in up to 54 display cases
* drive to and from venue – van provided
* erect the Bookshop display cases at the venue
* introduce children to the bookshop and guide their purchases
* record sales on computer Point of Sale – training will be given
* An interest in or knowledge of children's books is an advantage but not essential – training will be given
