Role Overview
The Senior Control Systems Engineer will be an integral part of a collaborative engineering team, responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining electrical and software systems for custom-built friction welding machines. This role requires a strong background in special-purpose machinery design, with experience in electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems. You will be tasked with creating electrical schematics, programming logic, and providing technical support throughout the machine's lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement control systems for friction welding machines.
Develop, code, test, and debug system software, ensuring seamless machine start-up and operation.
Interpret control system requirements from customer specifications and develop corresponding technical documentation.
Design Human Machine Interface (HMI) programs and robot programs for material handling.
Create detailed design documentation, including machine setup, operation instructions, and technical specifications.
Provide technical support to service technicians and customers as needed.
Contribute to the development and improvement of controls programming standards and methodologies.
Advocate for safety control systems integration using Siemens and Allen-Bradley technologies.

Required Skills
Proficiency in programming languages such as Ladder Logic and ST/SCL for machine control.
Experience with Siemens and Allen-Bradley safety control systems.
Strong ability to create, read, and edit electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
Strong attention to detail and results-driven mindset.
Preferred Skills
Experience with PLC/Motion Control Programming (Logix Designer, Studio 5000, TIA Portal, Simotion Scout).
HMI Design experience (FactoryTalk View Studio, WinCC).
Familiarity with SINUMERIK configuration and AUTOCAD Electrical or ePLAN for schematic design.
