Job Description
We're looking for a Senior Hardware Asset Manager (12 months fixed term contract) to join our Infrastructure and Service Operations team at Willmott Dixon. Although the IT team are based at our head office in Letchworth Garden City, this role can be done as either a hybrid, or a remote role. Occasional travel to Letchworth and other sites may be required according to business needs.
The Senior Hardware Asser Manager will be responsible for the monitoring and control of hardware assets so that they are properly inventoried, maintained and disposed of, ensuring compliance with IT policies and procedures. You will ensure that you have documented and embedded an end-to-end process to provide full visibility of our IT assets for our organisation.
Within this role you will work collaboratively with a variety of IT teams and cross functional stakeholders (e.g. Finance & Construction businesses) to establish, enforce and monitor hardware asset management processes, standard and controls. You will ensure that IT assets are used in the most effective and efficient manner by optimising costs and performance and supporting IT asset audits and reporting.
The role
Some of the duties / responsibilities of this role will include:
Define an IT hardware asset strategy.
Maintain a comprehensive inventory of all hardware assets, ensuring accurate tracking from acquisition through to disposal.
Plan and manage the full lifecycle of IT assets, including procurement, deployment usage, maintenance, upgrades, and retirement.
Collaborate to source hardware and related IT services ensuring value for money.
Analyse IT asset data and trends to identify opportunities for improvement, cost reduction and risk mitigation.
Collaborate with other IT teams to identify and mitigate risks associated with asset management, such as hardware failures, data breaches, or security vulnerabilities.
Maintain accurate records of all assets, provide regular reports on asset status and utilisation, and ensure documentation is up to date.
Create and maintain IT asset management policies, procedures, and best practice in accordance with ISO27001 certification
Ensure that stock rooms are regularly audited and reported on to ensure that we have accurate information on volume and cost
Responsible for auditing assets and take ownership of actions
Maintain a HAM risk register
Proactively identify, define and implement continuous improvements for HAM at all levels of Willmott Dixon Essential and desirable criteria
Ideally you will have some of the following experience:
Essential
Strong knowledge of hardware lifecycle management
Experience working with asset management tools and platforms.
Excellent organisational and analytical skills with strong attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Previous experience of using ServiceNow
Knowledge of ITIL framework and IT asset management best practice
Proficient with asset management software
Effective communication and people skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Experienced in creating excellent quality documentation. Desirable
Ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams and to influence stakeholders with data driven insights.
Background in conducting IT asset audits and reconciliations.
