Job Description

Scantec Recruitment are working in partnership with a global FMCG Manufacturer to find a Production Shift Manager to work within their Manufacturing Ops team. This is a fantastic business who can offer genuine career development opportunities. 

Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, your role as Shift Manager will be to manage your shift team to deliver business KPI's and day to day operational goals and deliverables. 

Hours of work:
4on, 4off, 12 hour shifts

Production Shift Manager - Summary of key responsibilities:

Act as key representative of business for all operational matters – Safety, Quality, Delivery and People 
Lead and manage Shift Teams in line with Company procedures
Drive performance of team members, giving direction and feedback to ensure good performance.
Develop team in line with business expectations and standards including the development of cross functional teams and skills.
Lead by example and ensure safe working practices are maintained and ‘Standard Operations’ adhered to.
Achieve the required quality standards in line with Company and customer expectations.
Ensure that Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) are monitored and targets are achieved.
Liaise and coordinate with support functions, whilst balancing resource/ skill allocation to ensure delivery of plan to schedule within all relevant quality specifications.
Lead (where required) and participate in standard daily and weekly operational and quality meetings.
Adopt the use of lean tools to seek improvement ideas and deliver these improvements in a standardised way.
Contribute to continuous improvement work streams by challenging non-conformance, looking and implementing solutions to ensure the best productivity results and compliance with procedures.
Communicate with the teams by utilising the visual management, delivering shift briefs, with focus on safety, quality, delivery, cost and people.
Skills & Experience required:

We're seeking an experienced manager with experience of working in a fast-paced FMCG manufacturing environment or similar. You'll need strong people management and communication skills and be an excellent communicator at all levels
