Role Overview

Cast UK are supporting a leading manufacturing company in Lancashire, renowned for delivering high-quality products to an expanding customer base, with the recruitment process of a Buyer to join our procurement team. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to play a key role in our supply chain operations and drive efficiencies across the manufacturing processes.

As the Buyer, you will be responsible for sourcing materials, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring the timely procurement of goods essential to our production. Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to optimise the supply chain and maintain high standards in cost, quality, and lead time.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage end-to-end procurement activities, from sourcing and negotiations to purchase order management and supplier performance monitoring.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to secure high-quality materials at competitive prices.
Conduct market research to identify new suppliers and cost-saving opportunities.
Collaborate with internal teams (production, planning, and finance) to align purchasing with company objectives.
Analyse purchasing data to assess inventory needs and support cost-reduction initiatives.
Ensure compliance with internal purchasing policies and procedures.
Drive continuous improvement within the procurement process.

Qualifications and Skills:

CIPS Level 5 (or higher) qualification is essential.
Proven experience in a Buyer or Procurement role within a manufacturing environment.
Strong negotiation and relationship management skills.
Analytical mindset with proficiency in data analysis and forecasting.
Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities.
Working knowledge of ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
