Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Quality Engineer with a strong background in mechanical engineering and product validation. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a technical or engineering discipline and have over 3 years of experience in this field. The role requires a high level of knowledge in mechanical engineering, experience in product and process validation, and the ability to read and assess product designs. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities are essential for this role.

Responsibilities

Support Product & DC Operations in problem solving and resolution efforts for all quality-related issues.
Develop a strong network with all engineering teams, leveraging resources to implement quality improvements.
Work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Lead the implementation of inspection technologies to achieve process reliability and product improvements, focusing on in-process inspection and testing.
Establish a system of metrics to continually monitor measurable quality performance.
Utilise statistical analysis to target key areas for process improvement.
Support risk assessment activities using FMEA and other quality assessment techniques.
Ensure effective root cause analysis and corrective actions are implemented for identified issues.
Partner with suppliers to produce quality process specifications during the development and implementation of new products.
Develop and manage quality plans for suppliers, understanding their key quality parameters.
Collaborate with other functions in an R&D environment to build, test, and validate quality for development builds.
Engage with PD and EE teams to align on specifications, quality criteria, and qualification criteria for vendor supply base.
Set up IQC criteria and inspection/test process for development parts.

Essential Skills

Bachelor's or Master's degree in a technical or engineering discipline.
3+ years of experience in product and process validation, including FMEA, DOE, and test method validation.
High level of knowledge in mechanical engineering with experience in mechanical piece part assessment and subassembly integration.
Experience in reading and assessing product designs.
Proficiency in data analysis techniques such as Minitab or JMP.
Proven ability to understand all aspects of quality and to lead, influence, and drive suppliers.
Excellent organisational and presentation skills.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Self-motivated with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.
Willingness and availability to travel as required.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Ability to program and use a CMM/OMM is an advantage.
Experience in consumer electronics is beneficial.
