Work Schedule: Full-time (5 days a week) or Part-time (3 or 4 days a week considered)
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Locum Pharmacist to join our team in Hertfordshire on a 6-month contract. You will be working across both medical and surgical wards in a busy hospital environment, providing high-quality pharmaceutical care to patients. This role is ideal for Band 6 or Band 7 pharmacists with experience in inpatient pharmacy settings.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive clinical pharmacy services to patients on medical and surgical wards.
Review and assess patients' medication regimens, ensuring safe and effective prescribing.
Advise medical and nursing staff on optimal drug therapy, including appropriate dosing, routes of administration, and monitoring.
Conduct medication reconciliations and assist in the discharge process by ensuring continuity of medication.
Participate in ward rounds, providing clinical input and contributing to multidisciplinary team meetings.
Ensure adherence to hospital policies and procedures, and support with any audits or clinical governance activities.
Provide patient education on the use and side effects of prescribed medications.
Essential Requirements:
GPHC registration as a Pharmacist.
Prior experience working in medical and/or surgical ward settings.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Ability to manage a varied caseload and work under pressure.
Available for an immediate start or within a short notice period.
Desirable:
Previous experience at Band 6 or Band 7 level in a hospital pharmacy setting.
Experience in aseptic services, clinical trials, or other specialised areas.
