Senior NPD Technologist

This is a key role responsible for driving product development initiatives, managing factory trials, and ensuring the successful delivery of new products from concept to launch. The role involves regular collaboration with internal teams, customers, requiring an individual with the ability to build strong relationships and maintain the highest standards in quality and product development.
Key Responsibilities:
Factory Trials & Product Development: Lead and coordinate factory trials, ensuring that new products are manufactured to specification, within budget, and meet quality and safety standards
Product Costing: Work closely with the finance and operations teams to prepare accurate product costings, assess profitability, and identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining product quality
Leadership & Team Management: Manage and inspire a cross-functional team to deliver new product development projects on time and to specification
Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives to drive continuous improvement in manufacturing processes, product quality, and operational efficiency
Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with internal teams, customers, and suppliers
Project Planning & Organisation: Demonstrate strong organisational skills, ensuring that multiple projects are planned, executed, and tracked efficiently
Customer & Supplier Relationship Management: Build and maintain positive, professional relationships with customers, suppliers, and stakeholders
Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure all product development activities comply with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations
Key Skills & Experience:
Proven experience in food manufacturing, ideally in a product development or NPD role
Strong experience in running factory trials and managing product costing processes
Demonstrable leadership ability with experience managing teams and driving project success
Passionate about driving improvements and maintaining high standards in product quality and customer serviceDesirable:
Experience working in the food manufacturing industry, particularly in a large-scale environment
Knowledge of industry regulations and quality standards
